Who Am I?
My name is Jordyn Hernandez—but I go by Jay for short! I was born in CT and spent a lot of my childhood moving from town to town across various states before settling in Beacon Falls for the remainder.
I've always had a strong interest in the medical field, specifically the human body, and studying its functions, needs, and diverse factors; now, as I begin to apply to colleges, I get to utilize this burning passion and apply it in ways that can benefit other people! I'm taking my first real step into this field via hands-on work as a CNA, gaining experience in the field before going off to work on my own.
I come from a family of six: My mom and dad, my older sister, and my two younger sisters. We've always had pets around the house, and we've had so many diverse ones! Cats and dogs have run the house since I could first remember, and many fish, birds, guinea pigs, and other animals have followed along with us on my childhood journey. Now that we've settled, we've got two dogs (Bandit and Dakota), two cats (Luna and Nyla, also known as Princess), and a happy fish tank. I've always believed that pets can complete a family, as they'll always have a place in my heart and home!

Experience
Personal: Babysitting has been a job for me since before I was ever hired at an official workplace. Growing up with so many siblings, my older sister and I were always assigned with keeping watch while my parents went out for chores or with friends. Since I was eleven, I was babysitting my younger sister at home, and, when the next one rolled around, I was babysitting her as well. This handed me experience that I was able to learn from and carry with me into official workplaces.
Workplace: I've worked in the childcare field since around mid-2024 with the United Day School company, based in Beacon Falls, CT.
Freelance: Family babysitting has been a wonderful way to gain and utilize my experiences, as well as a great source of purpose to me. Getting to bond with the children that I babysit and become somebody that they're excited to see is one of the most meaningful, heartwarming things.
Ambitions
Career: I strive to work in the medical field and am currently working on obtaining my CNA certification, which will provide me with a base education fresh out of high school and allow me to further my education in the medical field. While majoring in the medical field, I would love to minor in something along the lines of animation or comic creation.
Family: I am in a committed relationship, and I plan on moving in with my partner in the near future so that we can experience college together! He is a huge part of me and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
Travel: Exploring more of the world is a goal of mine. I moved house quite a bit as a kid, but wasn't exactly old enough to acknowledge and truly experiencing each location. Given the opportunity, I'd love to spend some time with my partner and explore the states (and possibly other countries) and educate myself more on the diversity of the world's cultures.
My Boyfriend & I
His name is Everette, and we are long-distance. He's my world. ᡣ𐭩
Hobbies
Art: I like to create art through various means, such as drawing, painting, crafting, sewing // crocheting, and so on.
Music: I play guitar and ukulele, and I love to listen to music. The range is wide when it comes to music taste, but I do enjoy old rock.
Video Games: They're a huge part of my childhood and I am always up for playing. I grew up playing games like Minecraft and Roblox, though pretty much any rising indie game will catch my attention. I owned a PS3 and a Wii growing up, and I've since added consoles like XBox, Nintendo Switch, and others to my shelf.
